VR walk-through of structural health data of a smart family home

Abstract (English)

In the building sector there is the trend of transferring the whole construction process into virtual environments. Especially for smart homes the digitalization and organization of facility objects such as light pulps, heating devices or window shutters are already state of the art. With the emerging of BIM concepts sensor installations need to be seen in the same 3D and object orientated context in the near future.

The video shows a walk through a 3D point cloud of the monitoring site, which can be used for visual integration and simple 3D measurements. Furthermore, the sensor installation itself is an in depended object that contributes to the data analysis. Its location can be switched on and off for the user investigation and it is also linked to attributes and monitoring results to display them in the right 3D context.
